I have a Dragonite(15/14/13) Sw/Dc at level 20 and 93 dratini candies. Should i power it up or wait for a new one with better moveset/level/IV?
I am level 32 and dratini is kindly rare...maybe i found 12 candies per week or 2 weeks
Depends on what else you have, do you need a high CP defender? Honestly dragonite is not a great defender, but since the gym scene is dominated by CP, you need high CP defenders so that you don't get stuck at the bottom of a gym and get shaved from it.
Having said that, it's really not a bad defensive moveset, but if you don't need him rigth away, you might as well wait for the upcomming gym rebalance and see how things turn out.
Are you one of those players with 20 dragonites with high IVs/great movesets in the bank who can afford to wait around for a dratini with some of the three IV points you're missing?
DC is arguably the best charge move and no longer available also.
I've evolved only two dragonites, neither with a dragon move in either slot, and both in the 80s for IVs. I would jump on the chance to power up that 93% guy.
But if you have better or equal dragonites already and catch dratinis at a frequency where you might see one better than 93% in the next few months, then wait. Keep in mind you'd not only need to get 30 more candy to evolve it but another 90-100 to power it up.
