(This was posted in response to PokeGecko; the system moved it down to seem like a response to yours. Incidentally the comment below was made assuming the error was first on my part, and was a duplicate.)
Have you ever noticed that the Pokemon Go game file is very small? That's actually because Niantic houses most everything on their end.
One of the benefits of such a system is that they can do "server side updates" and change things without forcing users to update or redownload things. (Another one, surely important considering that Go is played by going out into the real world, is that we don't have to have data that maps out the entire globe.)
The old data was not per se faulty in any regard, the base numbers for everything just happened to be significantly changed as Niantic decided that charge moves should be the primary carrier of dps (which in most cases really does make for a smarter system, although a few pokemon suffer crippling losses).
Calm the fuck down. Any moron can see that niantic(creator of pokemon go) updated the damage values and battle mechanics of the game. This website was already on top of that change and update every move and list to accurately reflect the current game. Welcome for such a reliable and responsive site we all use for free
