Double steel scizor use ?

Hey, evolved my first scizor. Hoped for double bug move, so it would melt those exeggutors. But RNG god gave me bulletpunch and Iron head. Is there any good use for hin with this moveset ?

Good generalist. Against rock types it's too risky w Stone Edge and fairy types are basically non existent in the meta

With steel moves he is a good mon with some neat resistances and such but he isn't the best into any target I could find. At least not to justify the cost of powering him up. Maybe others have found out otherwise.

Against big 7 you do have favourable matchups:
Blissey: You resist ZH and DG (but you'll probably lose anyway)
Snorlax: You resist ZH and do neutral
Gyarados: Bad matchup, resists none of Gyarados moves (CORRECTION: Only resists DT and Outrage) and you do non effective damage
Dragonite: Resists all dragonite moves, neutral damage
Tyranitar: This is a matchup where fireblast actually wrecks you lol, but otherwise, you double!! Resist iron tail!
Rhydon: Resists none of Rhydon's moves but you do SE to him

Oh I forgot Vaporeon:
Vaporeon is another bad matchup.

How can you resist Dragonite's Dragon Tail, but not resist Gyarados's?

Ah sorry, my bad. I always assumed gyarados only had bite and crunch and hydro pump

Snorlax: You resist ZH and do neutral

You also resist Body Slam, Heavy Slam, and Hyper Beam.

Rhydon: Resists none of Rhydon's moves

Not true. It resists Megahorn (Steel resists Bug).

I maxed one out as a defender. I have used it as an attacker and it does really well against stuff like Snorlax.

Is she good as a defender for you? Flareon eats her in a matter of seconds, but she can resist most of the other usual attackers. And she looks damn cool in gyms.

That is why placement is important. Placement between water pokemon is ideal, or if it is the only pokemon in the gym you would use a Flareon against. It is hard to determine how "good" they are, but in the first gym they lasted about a week.

Not really...you can use flareon for Snorlax Blissey and it works very well. Scizor will also always end up in the bottom 3, you're essentially giving someone a 10 second battle for free until 20000 prestige.

You assume every gym has a Snorlax or Blissey and that Flareon wont take damage. You let me worry about gym placement. I have 18 pokemon in gyms and not a single one is a garbage bite Gyarados, but if you want to throw another one of those in a gym just for the sake of placement, you do you.

If a gym doesn't have a snorlax or blissey, does a flareon choice hinder the ability of the fighter to complete the rest of the gym run even one bit? One of your points was 'forcing the attacker to use a flareon'. If this doesn't make him/her suffer elsewhere, then this point is moot.

There's no denying scizor will earn you low placement in the lower 3, and you're giving someone with a flareon a free battle, -1000 prestige in 10 seconds. Even gyarados can hold longer against a jolt, rhydon can against a vape, etc. -1000 prestige in 20 seconds is better than -1000 prestige in 10.

Also, I'm even questioning if a bite gyarados is actually a worse defender than a scizor anyway.

If you are questioning whether a Scizor is worse than bite Gyarados, I know you aren't speaking from actual experience. Anyone that actually battles gyms knows the most annoying thing is a diverse gym. I love the string of Vaporeons and Rhydons we see around here...My Venusaur and Tangela wreck most of them gym by themselves. It is very common to find gyms around here without a Snorlax or a Blissey, or just a single one. They are almost entirely filled with Vaporeon, Rhydon, Gyarados, and Dragonite, all of which do well against Flareon. Also you want to have something that is SE against Flareon before and after Scizor.

Low placement is based on your area and team. My Scizor sits firmly in the middle of most gyms. In the last one, he was in the top half, 4th from the top. I also have a 2800 cp Eggy sitting ON TOP of a gym. Like I said, let me worry about gym placement. If 2900 cp is the bottom limit for your gyms, Scizor is not for you.

I've gotten that same double-steel moveset with all three Scizors I've evolved, and I haven't found a single situation yet where I wanted to use any of them. Seems like anything they can do, something else can do better.

On the plus side, it's better than a double steel Machamp

Have double bug Scizor. If gym meta was 6-8 months ago, it'd be a gym-wrecker. Just don't see Exeggutors much anymore, but I guess you might see more of them soon with gym rework.

Double steel would be solid against Blissey.. Hmm..
