Double Bug Move Scizor.

I don't really have a good attacker with bug moves, so I'm trying to add some versatility to my arsenal. I've currently got two candidates. 1) Scyther 15/10/13 I can evolve or 2) Scizor 10/15/15 I can TM. Order of IV's A/D/STA. I hear attack Iv is all the rage these days...is the 15 attack the obvious choice? It's only level 15, but I've got spare dust to power it up if I get my targeted moveset. Thanks!

The 15 ATT would be better at a certain high end level but wow that would be a costly move. And one that could still cost TMs too.

I'm not sure there is a right answer here that I can give. Either would be good, one better without some degree of high end expenditure, but not nearly as much as the overall cost. This is like someone looking for an m3 or an S550.

I've got three Metal Coats currently and I'm tempted to roll the dice and see what it gets unless someone knows what level I'd need to take the level 20 10/15/15 Scizor to for optimal damage.

That depends on the opponent.

5 points is a lot. It is strongly tied to your opposition on the defense though and you would be best served running some sims on Pokebattler to see what can be gained or lost and the cost of difference.

I've got a related question. I've got a Lv 30 Scyther with AS/AA, which is the highest DPS flying moveset. The IV's are only 71 but it is 14 attack.

I delete at least 3 metal coats a month and keep 3 in reserve. Should I roll the dice for double bug, or is double flying worth anything (maybe in future generations)?

If that's the case then I'll likely just evolve him. I've got 3 Espeon (2 with FS), a Zam (with FS), and a Dragonite (with Hu)

A higher attack IV means you don't have to power up as high to hit the next point where damage rounds down.

I'm sitting on a couple dozen fast TM's, so I'm gonna roll the dice and see what it gets. If it ends up with at least the charge move I want, I can just make powering it up a progressive project until I find I really need it for something(I have 400k dust, but like to keep around 350k so I'm always able to power up a few things on short notice). If it doesn't get those moves, it only cost me 1 metal coat and I can always catch/hatch another and try again.

Well, I evolved it and got the exact same move set as the other one. F*ing RNG...

You may want to wait it out, Mewtwo won't be out for awhile. Luckily this Scyther was 30 when I caught it, did have to use some TMs but those come and go.
