Donphan solo experience sharing part II

Kind of obsessed soloing Donphan. So thrilling knowing that you are on the edge of winning and losing. And today is the first time not hearing the ticking of the clock. It beats my own record.

BTW, this is my team. Last mon was almost fainted by a PR but managed to release a HP to beat the boss. It looks like in Sunny weather Sceptile is the game changer. Although 2 hits killed by PR, its consecutive powerful Leaf Blade hits hard back and save lots of time. (FP Venusaur should work better but unfortunately I missed its CD so mine only charges SB).

I've a 98 Sceptile I haven't done anything with. Is it that worth the investment over another Gyarados?

ETA: In a grass biome with loads of Treecko

If you are not short in dust I think it worths it. But Gyarados may have wider usage? I'm not that sure.

I would power up the Sceptile over a Gyarados. And I have both.

Especially if you already have 1 or two Kyogre. There is no Legendary grass type.

I became a staunch Sceptile believer when I saw how much easier he made Omastar raids. I've no use for Exeggutor now thanks to Sceptile and FP Venusaur

It's my pain skipping bulbasaur and charmander CDs.

I wouldn’t do it. Grass is not really relevant and if you power up a Kyogre instead you get a pokemon that works in any weather against Donphan plus that it’s much more useful in the future.

For use outside of donphan, what about against solar beam groudon? Grass types work better against it than kyogre, and also suicune, and against kyogre itself

Frenzy Venusaur takes away the thrill though. Also, donphan is boosted when it’s sunny. Last time I tried I had about 30-40 sec left. Team was one maxed Venusaur, few lv35 Venusaur and a kyogre as anchor.
