Dodge Bug on fireblast Tyranitar

I can't help myself but dodge fireblast with my 2 machamps when going against the Tyranitar boss. About 1 in 3 I get the dodge bug and go dark.

I recall endless discussions on this site re: HB dodge bug but not sure if this can be handled in the same way?

1) mon can be powered up to a certain IV to avoid? KC/X-chop 2681 machamp and C/DP 2671 machamp. I usually start off with the legacy machamp and he seems to be most prone to the bug although I might switch order and see if I notice a difference.

2) after going dark, dodge 2 quick moves in succession?

3) any other tricks other than taking the next fireblast head on so mon gets switched out?
