Do you think Niantic will ever let us use items during battle without having to backout?
This would help take down raid bosses faster, and help with lag. I don’t see why we have to go in with multiple teams, or back out to heal our first team. Just one team, heal while on the last Mon(give Blissey or Aggron some use) and change your mon to the first one without having to back out. I think this would help with a lot of battles.

I am for removing the time limit (inside 45 min), since it really does not work as a challenge but for a really small segment, like soloing lvl 3 and short manning lvl 4 & 5. Otherwise it is either ridiculous high or a huge road block.
Instead save some statistics together with each raid boss (date, time to defeat, number of players, DPS/player, your DPS and part of total damage) that those interested may use to compare.
Healing during battle or leave to lobby does not matter much to me.
My guess of how this would benefit players:
City legendary raiders will see no change, 10+ groups will go on like always.
Rural players may actually get a chance to have all those big ones, although with a heavy potion investment.
Competition play will have easy access to statistics to make top lists.
People playing odd hours will get a chance to raid big game.
I am all for removing the battle timer as well. However for some reason niactic doesn’t care for that. It doesn’t make sense to waste a raid pass on a raid boss trying to short man a raid and the timer runs out. Heck let a dou of level 20 players try to take down a legendary. They will spend more raid passes. And have to get more potions and revives. But whatever.
The whole idea for raids is to be done with a collective of people. Pokemon Go is meant to be a social game, the raid system was the first big change to actually encourage that. By design it favors more populated areas with more active players, which is why apps like Discord are basically essential for areas with a less dense playerbase. Even in moderate areas it's helpful from an organization standpoint. What they need is an in-game chat system, or some way to let other players around you know you're looking for help.
As for potions and revives, the amount gained from soloing a T5 won't even come close to the amount needed to heal everything after. I can already hear the bitching about running out of heals from level 20's trying to solo something out of their league.
