What I want is a custom team system. Level 30+ player can create their own team with unique team names and team logos and other stuff.
Custom teams have a separate level. The more battles a team wins, the more 'Team XP' it gains. As it levels up, more members will be allowed to join, or more new functions will be unlocked.
Custom teams have 'team coins'. It can be distributed to members as welfare, or to buy team items like cool logos, shiny team name, etc. One can even set up 'entry fee' for a team if it becomes too popular to join.
Do you think the 3 Team System should have been 2?
Been thinking about it a lot and after reading these boards there always seems to be an "odd team out"
on each of these teams.
Imagine an update goes out and removes say Yellow Team. All yellow players in an area are assigned to the color that has the least amount of gyms in an area.
Would you be angry, or would it make the gym dynamic more balanced.

So basically you want dozens of teams added in game? Are they still under the red/yellow/blue team or they are another threat to the trio? Plus, what's the point? We don't even have the means to communicate INSIDE the game. It would be better to implement a chat system first before all this can even work.
Something like guilds in Ragnarok (really old game), but if I recall correctly, you also needed a rare Item in order to start a Guild, otherwise you'd have thousands of teams. The other problem is... if you give too much incentive for custom teams, they could be exploited.
As the other reply pointed out, there are many other things needed in the game, before they can even look at something like this.
Pros and Cons:
Pros: Can join the winning team. You won't hear another soul complaining 'There are only a handful of Mystic here in my city' etc.
Cons: If all players in your area joined Instinct for example, since they are the dominant team in the region, no player can contest gyms anymore.
That's probably why they haven't implemented this. I live in a Mystic dominant region and I still chose Instinct. Didn't really matter. I won't turn my back on Spark even if they implemented this. I take time to battle and contest gyms. After all, it's fun and I think games are meant to be fun.
An incentive system would be better. Allow people to change teams once every 30 days and give extra coins to the team with the disadvantage. Maybe yellow gets 15 coins/gym, red 12, and blue 10. The numbers changing with the average proportion of gym slots occupied over the last 30 days.
This would balance the teams as some people would switch to yellow, chasing a bigger payout.
I like three teams - it allows for temporary alliances and more interesting strategy.
In my home town the three teams were fairly balanced, but all but a few Valor players have quit. Instinct held the edge for a while, but there were a few kids with multiple accounts and blatantly gps spoofing, most of whom have thankfully been kicked out/left. I spent a lot of time taking down gyms, sticking a Poke in, prestiging to lv5, going back a couple of times a day and prestiging again and Mystic now have a decent advantage. I tend to leave the odd Valor gym alone (there only 8 gyms in the town and four of those are on the far reaches).
Conversely in the town where I work it's very much a Valor town with Mystic in second place.
