Do you recommend using the level 40 glitch?
It consist in using 3 cell phones with the open app and level up a level 38.5 mon to level 40, also says something about plane mode or something like that, it still remains despite being a bug, have you used it or recommend do it?

For OCD reasons I haven't powered anything above level 38. Gives me the option later to use one of the level 40 workarounds, but also leaves at a whole number unlike a lot of people that power up to level 38.5. I haven't powered many that high, but for further OCD, most of the pokemon I have powered that high I have left at level 37 because it is a prime number.
For high Breakpoint pokemon yes.
Dragonite Dragon Breath has high high high BreakPoint Vs Mewtwo and Blissey
If DB Dragonite has like 12 att instead of 15 you need to go higher than lev39 to get one more damage per fast move vs Mewtwo.
Other future (Gen3) situations may also require high levels for breakpoint on DB Dragonite...who knows
I've always wondered about this view.
I actually believe that the power up disappearing at 39 is a bug. And so when players in any game find a work around to a developer bug, I just call the cleverness.
The reason I think it's a bug is that there have been a couple occasions between phones and tablets where same acct has been logged in more than once.
When you catch a pokemon, the 2nd to land is "error"
When you spin a stop, error
When you do a raid, you actually share premium balls. If you get 8 balls. The boss will run when you have thrown 4 each, even though it says you have some left.
All of these actions imply to me, the game picks up actions on seperate devices and merges them on thier end.
Ergo, if the limit was meant to be 39 it would just give you the same "error" when you hit level up again as it does when you catch the same pokemon again.
I initially didn't care that my Pokémon could not level up to lvl 40, since the difference in CP between lvl 39 and lvl 40 isn't that significant. But, after recently maxing out my 100% Lugia, OCD has started to kick in, and it does bother me a little bit knowing that the Pokémon I've maxed out to lvl 39 are not truly maxed out. It still feels like unfinished business, but now that they are at lvl 39, there's nothing else I can do about that (unless Niantic decided fixing this bug became a priority, which it probably won't be until maybe more people even get this far). So, now I've decided to power up my Pokémon to lvl 40 in order to achieve that sense of completion. If you feel the same way, go for it! :)
I've said it before, and I'll post it again...
Niantic can perform a check for this on their side REALLY easily. Do this at your own risk. This breaks tos, so if they want to ban everyone they see that has L40 pokemon data coming back, they will.
The only way to get rid of a L40 poke is transfer, so, if they start banning people you'll have to choose. Loose your account or lose those exploit pokemon. Good luck.
