But seriously, I'm sitting on almost 40 Pichu/Pikachu/Raichu because of hat and move variants (including 2017 and 2018 Ash hats).

Yes, apparently this can be shiny.

Not all versions of Hat Pikachu can be shiny though. I think just one has been previously. The one that came during this summer wasn't shiny, but the one before that was.

I believe witch hat could be shiny

Just keep one of each. Find people to trade with.

I've caught three of these "fragment hat" Pikachu. Appraised then immediately transferred them so I wouldn't have to deal with the "can't select event pokemon" hassle later. I'm done with stupid hat-Pikachu. Probably going to trash several more old hat-Pikachu in my next purge before Beldum community day. In the mean time, I'll mark them for trading, see if anyone cares.
