Will Ditto be around to be caught only during the Thanksgiving event or is it a permanent addition to the wild pokefauna? Is there any information about this?

I would say permanent but maybe after this event ditto will become much rarer.

So I would try to catch it these days.

Maybe, he will only take the shape of Dragonite, Lapras or Snorlax, when the event is over. This would be the way to become the most hated PKM in game. :-)
