ditto bubble strat

I am currently collecting mons to try out bubble strat and I was wondering if ditto would be of use.

lets assume a ditto defender with bad IVs around 20-30cp. as it would always use transform which takes a lot of time you can defeat it easily before it finishes without getting any damage.

am I mistaken? any thoughts on that/experience?

Pick 6 digletts, all 10 CP with level 1.5.

I've got this and thinking how to use it

Ditto is just like Magikarp, his fast attack is weak but quick so he will make damage to your attackers and you will have to use potion to recover them.
I have tried with a Ditto 20CP once then I transfered him right away when he was fainted
