Disosal of legendary
After today my total Legendary count passed 150. Many of those are garbage. Thinking that the trade for the bonus candy makes the most sense even if it is for another of the same type that we can then transfer for double candy. What are the general thoughts here?

Depends on what you have. For me, for Kyogre, I have 15/15/15 (ads), 15/15/13, 15/15/12, 14/12/15, and many lower. For Raikou, I have, umm, nothing. So I'd trade Kyogre for Raikou many times, getting candy and maybe a top tier Raikou, and it's definitely worth the dust.
But if you're all set for all legendaries, maybe not. On the other hand, the people who are all set for legendaries usually don't have dust issues, or candy issues.
At 1600/800 Stardust (ultra and best friend levels): yes, definitely.
If you're picky about what to power up and catch pretty much everything you see, dust shouldn't be an issue. However rare candy/legendary candy will always be an issue - either you're spending real money for raid passes or you're locked to one raid per day.
I'd argue that the best things to trade for 3 extra candy would be low level/iv Dratini, Larvitar, Chansey, Bagon, Beldum, Ralts, Slakoth, Machop, etc... As the cost there is like 16/8 Stardust. Legendaries that you want to power up (kyogre, Mewtwo, Rayquaza, groudon, Raikou) are a close second though (first if you already have the final forms powered for the above).
