Did Niantic just ruin gift exchange?

They gave us access to the regionals, but it seems they messed with the Max revives and Max potions rates (about 1 every 20 gifts now)...
I guess, it makes sense for them since they sell that stuff too.

PS1: This change is very recent (since 2-3 days ago).
PS2: I am not implying that eggs and potions are correlated. I believe they directly altered the rate.

Dunno, I seem to only get dust since it was introduced as an option so these low health-item distribution rates is the norm for me.
On the other hand, I am just glad that today I have finally finished my Kanto dex with my last entry being Mr. Mime. Stupid regionals system. At least I will be able to get A tropius 6 years from now... (I freaking love tropius)

I don't think what you suggest is possible. You usually get 1-4 items from gifts + an egg if you have space. I think that eggs and items don't have any correlation. They have independent odds. If something affected the number of revives and potions it might have been the inclusion of stardust. Nothing to do with the regionals. Someone correct me if there is correlation between eggs and items, please.

I'd hardly say it's "ruined" given I still have to toss healing items, admittedly less frequently since stardust was added to the mix.

I've never had to toss a single one, because I literally burn them all for farming gold gym badges.

When I start my personal vanilla-to-gold badge speed challenge, I can easily burn 300 max potions and revives each in a week.

Sometimes I wish there was a way to get something, even a little bit out of trashing the healing items. Like maybe generate a gift that will guaranteed contain only healing that you can then send to a friend. I trashed 200 max revives not too long ago and it felt pretty bad knowing that many people could've made great use of those items.

They nearly only give Pokeballs, Pinaps and Stardust now. A rape sums this up. Next thing is that the dust count will only drop to 50 and the gifts only drop Pinaps and useless reds. HEED MY WORDS!

I'll trade you 400 max revives and 400 max potions for 100 rare candy.

I throw out revives and potions daily. So I'm not seeing a problem at all here.

It's been a while, Mr. Ex. I'm surprised we haven't seen an end of the world style rant about Mewtwo coming to the regular T5 scene, or about how arguably its best move is becoming EX exclusive.

Did I miss one about the Mewtwo developments? I looked and didn't see any specifically pertaining to that.

i'm glad not getting those items, I dont need them, the stardust and balls are so much better to get more often

That's the beauty of a balanced return. Everyone can get more than they need and throw out what they don't want. Win-win. RNG just muddy the works for a while.

Opened my 20 gifts last night, I think the first 12 were all dust or 1 Ultra ball and dust. The last eight were almost all red and blue balls.
Try not to interpret a short term trend as a long term change in frequency.
