Gaming ain't a waste of time if you enjoy what you're doing and it doesn't prevent you from doing your responsibilities.

It is a shame because most of your posts were insightful. You have nothing to blame but you. Niantic made a game, and you played it.

Unless you're somehow making money by playing a game, I think it's sort of supposed to be a waste of time (though an enjoyable one). That's been my approach anyway. I'm also Lvl36.5 and haven't been playing recently as I wait to see if legendaries will become available to those without raid groups, but I'm still hoping to play again someday. I can certainly respect the nuclear option that you took, however - whatever your reasons.

Not sure about your health condition. I'm a bit like you, as I'm tired of spoofers, cheaters, etc. But it's the only game that I play that do keep me active. All other games, I'm sitting, or worst, playing on my laptop or tablet while lying down. Gained a ton of stamina. So, I'm not quitting simply because it's good for me. I just play way more casual than I used to do. Have to say that you likely burned yourself because you were running two accounts, which didn't help.

I keep saying if you don't enjoy it, stop...

It's a game, not an investment.

Really, there are tons of better games out there with more game play and depth/things to do, etc so with all the changes, I'm sure a lot of us do gyms less/possibly play less as well. I'm sure everyone walks less hatching less eggs as well.

All long term goals were nerfed, but doing raids can be fun and getting "new" mons is fun (at least for me).

I'd say as long as you "don't care" what other people have and what you got, it doesn't/shouldn't upset you.

I'm happy to just get 1 Legendary of each...Don't use maps/spoof even though there are plenty out there...

Being "awesome/great" in Pokemon Go, like a lot of things in life means nothing so don't care/worry so much if you don't have the best mons or whatever...

People who got better stuff wasted more time/gas to do raids, etc...I'm high level because I simply play more...doesn't mean jack squat honestly.

Sad you destroyed 1 year of hard work you put in the game.

I'm also pissed and demotivated when I see all those spoofers and cheaters. They just stay in their sofa and keep getting perfect mons, it's unfair and somewhat frustrating. Sometimes I just give it a break and get back to the game a few days after.

But you should play the game the way you want. For some people, it's reaching lvl 40, for some others collecting high IVs ones, and I also have a level 34 friend who has never made any evolutions! He just want to complete his Pokedex by catching wild ones. He still needs a few ones from gen 1 and gen 2, doesn't care about IVs but it's just a personal challenge and different way to play it.

I think this is how everyone should enjoy it, but it's just my personal perspective.

Once again it's sad but I respect your choice.

If you aren't a super laid back person, or if you have expectations that the game should function properly when you have put yourself in a position to play it, then you will too often be left feeling frustrated by this game imo.

But it's fun to read about. =D

Sad and painfully long to watch for sure ;( I and many other legit players are also suffering from cheaters and d*ck moves from Niantic. But we try to find something in the game that motivates us enough to keep on playing it.

I, for many times, have thought that I should give up. But the love for Pokemon, the better health condition and body shape I'm getting from outdoor activities, the good feelings when I meet and talk and share my knowledge of PKM (from GamePress for sure) with other local players are among things that keep me getting up early in the morning and PoGOing. ;)

Anyway, wish you all the best on your new journey and hope that you'll find your interest in PoGO again someday.

What a disturbing video. It's like watching someone slowing committing suicide. I couldn't finish watching it. Made me nauseous.

Maybe you should've only powered up Pokemon with Great IVs to begin with. Might've not gotten so bored so fast with it by powering up the equivalence of C's, D's and F's (70%, 60% and 50%) .
Game is already repetitive so why not set a higher standard for yourself to sort of pace yourself.
I don't have a Dragonite yet or a good Snorlax or Lapras simply because I'm waiting on one with the Great IVs. I'm also around the same level as you too. Had I just powered up the very first one I caught or first Dratini hatched, I would've been bored myself by now too because my goals would've been achieved by now. Set some higher goals next time.

If it's so much a waste of time that you deleted it...why waste more time by coming here and blathering on? It seems more like a desperate attempt at attention than anything else.

Alas, not much hope for you unless you change your mindset. You're parting words are to cheat your way through life. That your only regret is maintaining a sense of integrity. I fear that if this is just a mirror image of your overall personality and approach to everything in life then you'll be in for some hard times ahead.

It's okay to quit the game. It's a smart move. Not everyone plays forever. The concern is condoning cheating as the "only" way to play.

I counter with doing anything without integrity is a waste of time. You could have just quit the game. Deleted your account on youtube for fun, and be done with it. But you had to come to a website and post about it like some kind of ill informed martyr.

Good luck. I hope you find some integrity in your journeys. Life is a waste of time doing it any other way.

Edit: I didn't watch the video. You could have given the account to some young kid. Or done something remotely kind with it. It would have brought you the same attention, but put you in a less obtuse light.

I feel u. I use to play PG every day on the way to work and back home. Can cycle in garden middle of night. Now cut down a lot, and feel like taking break after Legendary birds.

If you want to be "legit" you can only power up max to level 38.5 but other can just use 3 phone power up to level 40. Everyone and Niantic known it but So what?

I would applause you for doing that. Game is like an addiction and what you do would be a really good way to be done with it once and for all. You have the courage that not so many people have. To be honest, people playing this games are more likely to be those who don't have so much going on in their life and this is just a way to escape. So what's better is to find something that can really make a difference to you or the world. Learn a new language, live in a different country, go back to school, work harder and get promoted in your job. Good luck! There's so many opportunities waiting for you and you don't have Pogo to hold you back. That's something, isn't it.

If it's fun, I don't think it's a waste of time.
