Defending pokemon as scout

It seems the defending pokemon can help you report its nearby raid. Whenever I tele-berry a defending mon, it will send me a notification of its nearby raid that is not current within my eyesight, if there is any.

Not sure if that is officially implemented in the game.

Yes. People have been using this to remotely find raids. Hopefully Niantic Uses this to make the raid maps they promised.

Promised? It's really not that hard to make one. Just LoL if they promised it and need that much time to work on it
