Dear Niantic...Raid alerts and indicators idea
The infrastructure already seems to be in place. Why not have the Gym Badge screen show a Raid Boss icon (the Rhydon silhouette) beside any gym badge when an active Egg or Raid is going on (like the Pikachu silhouette for held gyms). You could even let us sort badges by raid activity.
Combining this with a quick in-game alert when a new egg spawns, and I'd never have to use a raid scanner again. What do yall think?

I like that too. The Gym Badge screen really should be revamped to show all kinds of information like what you suggested with a quick glance instead of the very clunky and very limited remote berry system that's used now.
I've actually had to show people how to check their held gyms for Raids because of how needlessly complicated it is
Think it may be too much useless information, unless the alerts could be filtered to your current in-game locality, or certain types of raid. People record a ton of gyms, many of which will be miles away. I wouldn't care if there was a raid appearing a gym that is hundreds or thousands of miles away as there would be nothing I could do about it.
I considered that too. Some people have hundreds of gym badges from all over the world. They could let you check-mark only the gyms you want raid info from or even limit it Gold gyms. There's gotta be a better in-game system than leaving it to 3rd party scanners that Niantic doesn't even condone. I'm confident if they spent a day thinking about it they could come up with a good solution
