Dark counters to psychic legendaries
I understand tyranitar is the best choice here. Just wonder if houndoom worths dust and even TM in this regard. Any other good alternative?
Got 2 houndoom with FF FP. Consider use TM some days to make double dark moves.

At this time I am using my bite gyarados for Alakazam as fillers behind T'rex. If they have crunch it's a bonus. I don't understand why people are disregarding gyarados in the new raid and gym system for attacking. His base stats average is one of the top in the game, and his attack Stat is excellent. Move pool is great.
IF mewtwo gets released, we will have to reconsider other options once we know it's moves. Bug x2 Scizor will probably be up there as top counter with T'rex.
I don't think people are disregarding Gyarados, it is just the Gyarados homers thinking he is better than he is.
I have said double dark Gyarados and Arcanine are good options, especially against pokemon with focus bast. They both were big winners with the new SE formula.
If we compare the stats, Gyarados' attack stat is 237 and Houndoom's 224. Those are pretty comparable stats, but STAB is still worth an extra 20% damage. You could also argue that Gyarados has better stamina and defense. While true, Houndoom will DOUBLE RESIST psychic attacks, taking half damage.
The only way in which Gyarados, or Arcanine, will be better attackers, is if the charge move is either fighting or bug.
