daily pass and pokecoins for next day

I read that some trainers have successfully change the time zone on their phone to obtain tomorrow's daily raid pass so they could use today's and tomorrow's pass on the same day (i.e. today).

Will this work with pokecoins? i.e. if you switch to a time zone which is ahead of your local time, would you receive coins for tomorrow even if your pokemons return before 12midnight local time

And does this only work with altering time zones? Can you turn off "auto date and time" and manually set your phone clock forward and still receive the daily raid pass and pokecoins for tomorrow?
