Critical Hit ?

On the silph road movelist they mention for each charge move a CRIT value parameter ranging from 5 to 50%

Is this used? (what is it for and if not used now can it be introduced later by niantic?)

It hasn't (yet) been implemented in actual game play, but many people - myself included - think it's only a matter of time. It's in the code after all.

But what would it do, does it double the damage. Stone Edge with 50% CRIT chance would deal massive damage (160 power) and it if this is ever introduced could be OP on like rhydon.

The assumption is that a critical hit would be some multiplier of the original damage, perhaps 2x or 1.5x ... Something along those lines.

Don't forget dragon claw (25% crit), that's going to be insane.

I assumed it meant a % chance of completely fainting a Pokemon on hitting.

I don't believe for 2x damage. I bet it's another x1.25 like stab and type advance.

players don't get critical, but defending mons do and its a B.
