Counter Zapdos

Assume you want to train a friendly Gym and you face a Zapdos. What will be the best counter? I know a Dragonite might probably kill it if it was the same level, but what do you chose to get more prestige?

My first thought was Nidoqueen or Golem with Stone Edge. Just wondering what I should keep of my niche attackers

Probably a Golem with RT/SE is going to be a nice pick then. A Jolteon, Magneton or SE-Queen would probably also be able to handle a Zapdos.

Golem for sure. STAB + super effective rock moves, and Electric resistance typing.

It's 1.95x (1.25^3) as effective as a pokemon that has neutral typing to and against Zapdos, if you could somehow have a theoretical pokemon that has the same stats as Golem, moves that deal equal neutral damage.

That's the best you can get. Ice type moves are super effective too but the pokemon that have relevant Ice type moves have typing that is weak to Electric which negates the bonus, besides Mew with Blizzard.
