Community day prep

How is everyone doing with their community day prep? For instance I have 306 Beldum candies but only 1 really decent Beldum I might evolve. 93 hatched with 15 attack.

Cooking meals on a daily, lifting weights to get stronger and doing some cardio so I won't get exhausted during community day.

Man, I just wake up with hangover and see if I still in time to catch those blue nails. Ready for those thumbs down.

As you can understand, I'm not really doing any special preparation for community day. I might safe some pinaps however.

No thumbs down, it's a good strategy. Make sure of drinking a lot of water the night before (and sleep enough).

Been walking my hundo Beldum since the day it was announced. Beyond that I've been stockpiling Pinaps, Beldum aren't exactly a common species to hoard multiples of beforehand barring hatches and good trades. I should try to focus on getting extra dust before then, I'm gonna blow through most of mine maxing out the hundo after evolving it.

Stockpiling pokeballs and pinaps on my main and sub account and saving up my stardust mainly. I'm in the same boat as you: I have a 93% 15 atk ready to go that I will be walking as soon as my Moltres gets its next candy. Despite getting like 600 candies+ on Larvitar day, I still ran out after maxing 2 and raising 3 others to 35+. Don't intend to repeat that with Metagross.

Not doing preparation. I saved a 96% beldun that I got 7 months ago waiting for this moment. Beldun spawns are nearly nonexistent here with psychic event going on and all.

What I need to do is either fixing my pokemon space or buying more when we are close to the day. For chikorita I had only 25 free slots and it's very tedious to clean up every 15 min or so.

I've been trying to up my box space as much as possible. With the extended hour for the assumed Meteor Mash I plan to keep as many Beldum as I can and trade the rejects with my fiancee to roll better IVs/lucky before deciding what to evolve.

I wanted to do this as well. Depending on how things go, I may trade trash shinies back to back with "best friend" to roll better IVs. We'll see.

Remember you only get to do that once during the CD window. Save whatever your absolute worst shiny is for that.

Two if you advance your system date and time timezone to a location where it is already the next day. I don't usually do that since the friendship update because it messes up gifts I can send and open, but it might be worth considering for trading one more shiny pokemon on CD.

I'm guessing this works by setting the time zone ahead, doing the trade, then setting the time zone back so you can evolve for CD?

Thank you for the reminder. I was considering also evolving all the way every shiny to have a second chance in the following days (this would allow trading with 2016 pokemon to improve lucky chances). Assuming that I get more than one!
Candy shouldn't be a problem with 477 already in stock. But it all depends on many variables. Will secure my 96% and a decent shiny and we'll see how it goes from there.

Read this post and hatched a Beldum immediately after. It's the second Beldum I've ever seen. Does this count as preparation?

Seriously though, I thought that Community Day was about catching a lot of Pokemons of this species because they appear everywhere... not about trying to catch lots of them beforehand.

The best I can do is to stock many Pokeballs and not to sleep through the entire event.

I just clean up Pokémon storage space to make sure I can accommodate them without trashing anything down until the end of the event, feed all remaining berries except pinaps an GRB. I’ll also hoard poke and ultra balls, and throw away the great balls as I either go+ mons or really want all chances to catch / increase candy.

That’s it, not even alarms because you can evolve 1h after the event finishes.
