Common Pokemon a harder to catch ?

Is it just me or Niantic have given this pokemon some drugs because it took me 6pokeball , 2greatball , 1ultraball+berries and I still cant catch a 388cp Rattata .. All my catch are like this , it took me a couple of try to get those common pokemon .. Caught 955cp Exeggutor 1ultra+berries and it goes down easily .. What is the point of getting all those gold medals if you can`t catch that type of pokemon ?

Odds are that rattata was a ditto (they are harder to catch but the cirllclecolour doesnt show u that)

Are u using curveballs?

Agreed - a lv29 ditto disguised as a Rattatta took 3 great balls today.

I've not generally noticed a big problem with common pokemon. With the higher CP common pokes though if your first shot is a bad shot (not a nice or better), runaway then have a second attempt, rather than continuing.

I found ever since the Halloween event ended pokemon in general are much harder to catch. Rats have always been tough and I stopped trying to catch them for this exact reason. Now I have to waste pokeballs on them incase they are a ditto.

They did something in the last few weeks with making pokemon harder to catch. So frustrating. Always low on pokeballs as a result.

A 59 CP Pidgey broke out of a "great" curveball throw today. Was that even possible before? And it wasn't a Ditto, I caught it.

The catch rate is the same. Perhaps you want to try different ways of throwing the ball on your first try (and subsequent tries)? Just my personal superstitious belief, but I believe there are specific ways of throwing to which wild pokemon are "weak" to. At least, specific to my character. For example, all of my Abras were caught using a straight throw; every single boomerang throw led to Abra running away.
