Cloyster worth investing dust?

I'm low on dust. Always between 0 and 100k.

I have a lvl 20 cloyster with FB/B with 89% IV and perfect stat repartition given cloyster exceptional defense stat : 15at 10def 15sta.

I also have a lvl20 Lapras with same moveset but only 78IV and I don't want to spend candies on him since I have a defending Lapras lvl36 vert hungry to be powered up and I plan to get another soon or later

I have trouble finding shellders, especially high cp one.

I want to invest dust in an attacker only if I will always use it, even in 6month.

Max out this cloyster? Wait for a close to perfection Lapras? Wait for higher Cp shellder. Stick with dragonite to kill dragonites?

Look at the HP difference between Cloyster and Lapras. Even with the difference in IV, Lapras will always be a better attacker because it will last longer.

78% is not bad at all and I would DEFINITELY power this Lapras up over a 100% Cloyster.

You could consider keeping the Cloyster for prestige? What is its CP at the moment?

It's 140X CP which is good for prestiger. But I also have two Lapras 16xx.

The Lapras are definitely the priority, but it would be good to take cloister up to about 1600-1700 CP. With moderate dodging skills , it will be able to take down most dragonites you come across.

Why would he need to power up the Cloyster when he has 2 Laprases that are already at that point?

The Cloyster becomes useful when there are Dragonites with less than 3k CP, since you can't power down a Pokemon.

I definitely power up that Cloyster because of the respectable IV and a killer move set against a Dragonite.

I would power up both Lapras as Cloyster. I have a 2000 cp Cloyster with the same moveset similar IVs and it takes down 3400+ Dragonites/ Exeggutors with ease. I have never owned a Lapras lol hopefully I can obtain one soon, but you can rest assured one charge move wouldn't cripple or kill you unlike Cloyster. But against a army of Dragonites why not bring all 3 into battle? On a side note Jynx with Frost Breath and Psyshock and Dewgong are great too.

You got to ask yourself why you are always low on dust. Even thinking about maxing out a Cloyster is never in the mind of any trainer that is fiscally dust responsible. I feel dust poor if I fall below 500k.

I don't know guys how you do to accumulate so much dust. I power up only 90% + tier 1 defenders and 96%+ tier 1,5/2. My worst Pokemon that I'm maxing out are 100% jolteon and charizard with best moveset.

I accumalate dust by grinding catches but also from hatching eggs constantly and getting my daily 5000 dust from gyms. I got a strict rule on spending dust also
