Cloyster movesets

Good morning fellows,

Just evolved a Cloyster with the purpose of prestiging Dragons, He's 1294 CP 80 IV Frost Breath/ Aurora Beam.

My question is, Aurora Beam is really THAT worse compared to Avalanche? The difference in DPS is huge but they're both 2 bars attack one with 90 power and other with 80, on real game it should be amost the same, right? or am i wrong?

Please note that i live in Rio and Ice pokemon are rarer than Dratini (i'm serious, this is the second Cloyster that i evolved in 7 months of playing).

Thank You!

With the rarity of ice pokemon for you, I think that guy will be just fine for you. You could also consider some non-ice pokemon. For quite a while my Dragonite slayer was an ice beam Slowbro. I have also found Azumarril to be an effective prestiger with both ice beam, or preferably, play rough.

It deals less damage while having a higher cooldown.

Jynx has Avalanche too and I have one of here with it. They are hatchung the babies now as well if you cant find them wild. Old trusty Jolteon is also a good Dragonslayer. It also doubles as a Garyslayer.

Man, I'm from Rio too and I don't think that ice mons are so hard to catch, there is a lot of shellders and seels around the beaches and waterfronts. Jynx can be found in certain places very regularly, and there are some swinubs here and there. Lapras are hard to find I agree but for the rest...

For comparision, according to Pokebattler, Attack strategy, Dodge everything Pro:

Defender: Dragonite - CP=2600|DT/O
FB/AB: 29s, 4 HP remaining
FB/A: 23s, 12 HP remaining
