Is Close Combat Heracross better than Close Combat Machamp?

I have a 14 attack Heracross that I use quite a bit. The attack IV was rolled from 3 to 14 when my friend and I traded, and I was wondering if it's just a dex filler or usable.

I have a lot of Machamp plus 15 or so usable Heracross. Sure I've only fought Regice four times, but I've seen auto select pick the Heras. Maybe it was cloudy weather and Heracross has a better resistance to fighting and ground (other situations it resists grass better than Machamp). I obviously didn't use those Heras bc CC sucks.

That's the Sunnyside, anything else you can think of will favor Machamp. (I'm talking about Heras that are 2480 to 2580, if lower or near 2000...well, do a boosted Machamp raid til you get DP)

Heracross has better stats than Machamps. I catch boosted Heracross all the time and CC vs CC Heracross is the way to go. Machamp only wins because of Dynamic Punch. Just look at Raikou vs Zapdos. Zapdos has better stats, but Raikou has better moves.

They have the exactly same ATK + stab. Both with C/CC and against Regice, Heracross gets the edge since it resists Rock Smash, Focus Blast and also Earthquake. And overall its status are also a bit better.

But the only acceptable excuse for having a CC Machamp is that you ran out of TMs. DP Machamp is so much better.

Yes, Heracross CC is better than Machamp CC.
Machamp has to have Dynamic Punch to be better.

The bug has the stats to outperform the mutant wrestler, just not the moves to actually do it. Heracross under Cloudy Weather is the best budget Machamp you can have access to, tho.

From stats perspective Heracross is barely/arguably better:
( A/D/S/MaxCP )
Hera: 234 / 189 / 160 / 2938
Mac: 234 / 162 / 180 / 2889
So Heracross has +27 defense but -20 Stamina. Not sure if that even matters much in actual combat/TDO.
