Opposite for me, I have noticed that my whole town is dominated by 4-5 Instinct players that are most certainly spoofers. I have a gym right next to my house that I can’t keep for more than an hour so I have stopped bothering with gyms. 10-20 coins a day is a blessing. It really bugs me because when I moved here, I made some friends on the Valor team and we would take down a few gyms / hold them for 2-3 days and have friendly competition with mainly Mystic players. Now we don’t text each other at all and the whole town is dominated by Instinct players that just drop 3000 CP drags and blisseys everywhere. So when I do see an opening I can’t do much but drop a Pidgeotto in the bottom spot because the gym is taken down in less than 4 hours every time.
Clamp down on cheaters
I have not bothered with gyms in months due to bots / spoofers ( one of which had gyms allover the UK and would take them back instantly when defeated ) anyway today on the way to my local triple pokestop location I noticed all 3 of my local gyms that were all lvl 10 instinct gyms are now level 3 instinct gyms with the same players removed. Now the ones that are left were already in the gym in lower spots with the exact same pokemon. Has anybody else noticed a drop in certain players or gyms today? This was a much welcome surprise and I'm hoping it's good news going forward

When I first started there was a valour player who we both started up a sort of battle between us both then we got talking and become friends. He was a good few levels in front of me but gave up months ago due to the gym problems. It's been so bloody annoying being unable to participate in gym battles or even earn coins that I was close to dropping off from the game until gym rework. Today was the first time in months I actually really enjoyed myself while playing and fingers crossed the gym reworking will being that aspect of joy back for everyone.
A week ago the gyms in Hamburg - Germany started with a 3k+ snorlax in a 10 man stack. Which was quite a nuisance.
Same gyms are now filled with 2k+ vaporeons and flareons. It really seems that spoofers are gone. Also the nicknames and levels of the gym holders have changed. Which proofs my thought that many many cheaters got their punishment!
It was like that here tbh, day after gen2 release the 3 gyms were full of high cp mons such as tyrant and espeon and some have remained there since with a few being replaced by even higher cp. Battling them was useless due to being back to level 10 in less than an hour. Today was just vapes and blisseys being no higher than 2600 cp
