GamePress

In January it was announced that the game would be brought to China in 2018. However, China bans google and Facebook, so how would people play in China? Would you have to sign up for a Chinese service? Would accounts made on google/fb be able to transition to the Chinese service?

I’m a little skeptical of the implementation of Go in China. Do you think Niantic will fail or succeed in adding China to a place you can go to catch Pokémon in 2018 as they promised?

Maybe they all can sign in on pokemon trainer account! That's the only way I think for them to play.

They already released in China, in Taiwan, Macau, Hong Kong and also Mongolia.

Downvoting myself, I know that more than 50 million people will get very angry lol.

I have upvoted, because, you know, changing the world can be done by small things too :P

Despite their different political and economic systems, Hong Kong and Macau are technically Special Administrative Regions of China.

China also claims that Taiwan belongs to them, but Taiwan claims that they should be independent (or even that China was originally theirs).

As GamePress is not the right place to discuss international politics, no further questions on this will be entertained. If you want to know more, please read other websites and offline sources.

(For the record, I am Singaporean, ethnic Chinese and neutral on the issue, but I did laugh at the comment.)

Are you a mod or something? What authority do you have to decide what can and can't be discussed here?

This forum should be about Pokemon Go and not much else. If you want to discuss these topics, I recommend you to go to another website/forum. people here are from all over the world and you might offend one when talking about these topics.

I didn't know Asians were so sensitive. Is that where the slur chink comes from? Like a chink in armor?

PTC account does seem to be a fairly obvious answer here.

Google or Facebook does not work in China. It will be a localized PTC or sign-in using Chinese social networking credentials, e.g., Weibo, QQ, Weixin, etc.
