Charge bar progression rewinds
Tried to solo vaporeon today and i had this issue that I noticed a while back but it never bothered me until now because it doesn't have a big effect in multiway raids but now I'm trying to solo stuff and being able to get one more solar beam before vaporeon charges is so crucial.
What happens is I see the charge bar filling up and at times slightly rewinding. It's particulary annoying and costly when I'm about to charge. The bar fills up and glows so I press and hold to release the charge move, nothing happens and I see the bar rewinds a little bit so I have to tap fast again to re-fill the bar to it's maximum... I hope I was able to explain it clearly. English is not my native language.

It's the "Overfill" just read the news about "1bar vs multiple bar charge move" you will got your explanation, this site guides is very usefull for those who takes time to read.
édit: it's not a bug or lagging issue, you can try with a Magikarp, solo, 100mb/s connexion, it will overfill anyway if
- bar charge at 99% , and you get attacked by Magikarp, it will always overfill, cause being attacked fills your bar.
I know this problem. It is a bain for confusion solar beam exeggutor. It is great on paper but it fucking sucks in real life due to this energy retraction problem, I need to hit 3 more confusions after I fill up the charge meter completely.
I almost always prefer using dragonite or the electrics with thunderbolt against vaporeon or suicune now because you can reliably release 2 bars.
I think it is related to the dodge bug. The game decides that you have not taken as much damage as it initially thought, and thus have not gained as much energy. It gives you back a little bit of HP and takes away a little bit of energy. The game seems to be constantly doing this, but the numbers are so small you don't notice until you have a full energy bar.
I don't know if this is the case. For particular mons with fast energy gain fast moves I count the number of fast moves needed to get enough energy to charge a move excluding damage taken and it still does this jumpy energy bar crap to me. It's a real pain especially with Gengar where time is OF the essence and will usually be the difference between two SB and/or death.
I have the same problem. I never dodge however so i dont think its that for me. I just decided to do a few extra fast attacks to over compensate
I have the same thing when sweeping gyms. Ill keep my energy bar full after beating a mon to have a full charge ready for the next one.. come the next battle my charge bar drops from 100% to 90 or 80%
