Changing gym dynamics?

Last night while prestiging several blisseys there were 2 that had psychic. The first one behaved normally with the warning notation and flash. The second one hit me and then displayed the warning and flash. Happened each time so had to start dodging quick moves when I thought she'd be charged up.

Just a glitch? Anyone else have something similar?
