Change Team?

So after haring rumors, I attempted requesting a team change through Niantucs Request thingy. This was a few days ago, slowly losing faith in the rumor... has anyone actually been able to change teams?

Last time I checked on Niantics webpage it said team changes were not possible.

I read it is possible only for players who havent played much on their accounts.

Lets say you are level 5 and pick up team mystic and then want to change to instinct, its possible for you then, cus you havent played much yet.

Im not sure if level 20 player is alrdy "too much played" category.

I sent in an email months ago. No change yet. I think they granted changes in the beginning but no longer do. I think they realized this wasnt good for the game.

Some guy in my town has changed from Team Mystic to Team Instinct. Exactly same name, exactly same level. Mystic used to rule our town but then everything changed to Instinct, a month later he was Instinct too.

I have no clue what are the requirements for it but I'm convinced that they have changed teams for some players.
