Catch rate change

Right, I am definitely catching less since the latest update. I have been waiting to see if I was just having a bad run, but I am now convinced it has changed.

Before the update, when the catching circle thing (whatever it's called) was yellowish-green and I landed a great shot, I nearly always caught the Pokémon. In the last 48 hours or so, I hardly have at all. I've had CP 2XX Spearow and the like jumping out of 4 or 5 great shots with great balls.

Anyone else noticed this or am I a crazed loner? :-)

Yeah I've noticed it, though this doesn't mean we aren't just both on cold streaks...

I've noticed it for about a month now. Since end of December. I posted about it a few weeks ago.

Pokemons definitely jump out more often now.

Are you routinely throwing curveballs to catch things? I felt the same as you a month ago and switched to all curves and haven't had a problem since.

I just had a cp169 Pudgy jump out of 4 curves in a row, 2 of them Great throws.

Aha! I thought the same...

I feel like it's harder to make curveball throws

How is that even possible? I have been throwing curve balls since level 8. I haven't noticed it being harder to swirl my finger on the screen to throw a curve.

I think it takes a split second longer now for the "spin" animation to happen and for it to register as a spinning curveball. If you spin it really quick and toss it there is a chance it didn't register as a curve ball.

I try to hold it spinning for an extra half second before throwing now.

Still though I find the last month or so it has been harder to catch pokemon in general.

Yes, I have noticed that too. It also appears that the flees rate is higher.
