Candy trades: 90 days to improve the servers. The clock has started.

Level 1 normal trade for mon caught 100km apart is 100 dust for 3 candies. The cost is likely to go down significantly at the best friend level. It seems too good (or too easy) to be true. What are your thoughts?

How many pokemon do you catch 100km from where you usually play? I suspect most trade will give 1 candy.
The exception is alolan pokemon from eggs. These are easy to get from across the globe. Its also the best way to progress on the trade distance medal.

I'm 375 miles away from home for a long weekend. Guessing I should keep 50 to 100 of the trashy things I catch? Is that gonna move the mileage on a new badge or give me extra some extra growlithe candy when I trade it.

Yes, the candy bonus from trading depends on the distance between where the mons were caught and where the trade is taking place. You get a maximum of 3 candies for a 100km distance.

I definitely catch more mon* close to home, but so do my friends and family that live more than 100km from me, and also play in different biomes than me. The only important distance for candy is the distance between the two catch sites.
* mon is the same singular and plural 😉

So I am now 3,700k from home. Working on the strategy of how many mon to trade NOW to have bag space to bring home later. Can see a lot of desire from local friends if there is a bonus to the trading medals.
