Candy doesn't take up bag space but rare candy does?

I do not believe that a player is completely at the mercy of other players. I have been obtaining 50 coins per day because of what I do. I think a player needs to do what other players do not do. What that is for you, I do not know. What that is for me is that I play early in the morning, not in the evening when most other players play. I walk or run early in the morning and, with the gym battling system change, can take over 3 or 4 gyms before 7:00 am. They last a few hours. I earn 50 coins. I am not at the mercy of other players. I am only at the mercy of my willingness to get out and PokemonGOGOGO.
Normal pokemon candy are not items. Rare candy in this state is an item untill it is used/consumed (and it has to be really so we can use it).
However, i do think certain items could still be 'items' but not consume bag space. Obviously it would only apply to special items.
Perhaps evo items for example...they are in our bad but dont actually consume a bag slot.
And i think the raid passes are a perfect item for it.
Doubt it will happen like...but with the big increase in new special items over the past few updates...evo item, rare candy, raid pass likebi mentioned...it takes up allot of bagspace.
It seems they responded by increasing our bag capacity limit. And thank god tbh, i was totally full.
