Can we expect Pinsir to be the next Alakazam?

It has 196 base defense, 2 points higher than Alakazam, although it has less attack, 2 of its 3 charged moves have 3 bars each. Obviously Moltres will be the top pick, but for people using only Mewtwos, X-scissors can definitely cut thorugh your pile of Mewtwos, not to mention how many people use Confusion because of its extremely monstrous DPS combined with a great energy gain, but it is so damn slow.

Gengar can be a "tank" in the fog by double resisting Bug Bite, X-scissor and Vice Grip, even triple resisting Rock Smash and Close Combat.

That would be a great choice. T3 raids pretty much suck right now, and it would be great if they added an interesting one like Pinsir that would be both challenging (to solo), and result in the opportunity to catch a useful mon.

It would be easier than Alakazam since it doesn't have powerful coverage moves for its counters, but probably still a fun solo. As you said Moltres is super good and so are AS/AA Rayquaza and Hu Dragonite.
