Can't enter fight.

When I enter a gym and start selecting my attack squad, the go battle often goes dark so I can't click it.
If that happens, I have to leave that screen and at least go to the gym's picture disk and back to squad selection and start over.
When this is happening, I sometimes give up and go fight with whatever random selection the game picked - given how weak the gyms are now, it doesn't really matter much, but the battle isn't much enjoyable w/o proper type advantage.
Is it just me?
Bad signal?
Incumbents feeding berries in the mean time?

I'd say it's more annoying than the dodge bug, since I now spend significantly more time in the selection screen than actually fighting.
