Can I trust GamePress move ratings?
Hi
I've used this site and the move ratings to decide which Pokemon to keep and power up.
However, there has been a massive change in ratings this time, and Pokemon that previously had an "A" rated move set now sometimes have a "C" or "F" rating!
Why should I still trust your ratings?

I am finding it hard to trust for the defensive movesets, but the attack movesets are spot on in my opinion. With the recent move update, defensive movesets do not matter in my opinion. Gyms are too easy to take down for any experienced trainer. Outside of snorlax and blissey, I can normaly take down anything before it builds 150 energy worth of attacks.

Just out of curiosity, have you looked at the attacking moveset ratings for Lapras? If so, do you still think they are spot on? I am not saying they aren't, but an awful lot of posters seem to disagree with the Lapras ratings and I am genuinely curious as to how you feel about them.
In my opinion, it's never the best strategy to simply rely on one resource for all of your decisions. First off, definitely battle for yourself to get a feel for what you like, and for what's effective in the gym meta in which you play.
Second, read different websites / check different simulations to see how they rate different movesets. My personal favorites are GamePress, Pogomoves.com, Pokebattler.com, and Goptimiz.fr/en
Your ultimate conclusions should involve some mix of real-world battle experience in your meta mixed with the theoretical analysis from a well-rounded variety of trusted sources. A lot of people around these boards know a TON about this game and are a very valuable resource, as well. Never hurts to ask if you've got a question that you can't easily find an answer to with Google.
If you have a question about defensive movesets, for example, most people around here will tell you that "CP is king, and movesets don't matter," and this mentality is fine and all -- but it's also a big reason why most gyms are just filled with crappy versions of good pokemon. Personally, I think the whole fun of this game is collecting the most optimal movesets for the best mons for both offense / defense, so that you can absolutely maximize the effectiveness of both your monsters, and your local team's ability to collect coins. This is a good example of an area where I think a lot of the GamePress community will lead you astray and tell you that movesets don't matter, so you're better off getting feedback from a wider variety of sources.
Cheers and happy hunting!
Do you realize with the gen2 update, Niantic massively changed existing moves? Of course there are going to be massive changes in moveset ratings.
You can also cross check the ratings with spreadsheet data on a site like http://www.pogomoves.com
and make some generalized judgements yourself. i.e.:
-Generally quick moves with shorter time are better for offense and longer time are better for defense.
-Usually two or three bar moves are better for defense.
-On offense, comparing DPS can sometimes be a poor metric for charge moves with different energy costs; a charge move with two bars that deals more damage per 100 energy can be better than a one bar charge move with higher DPS because you also need to include the time needed to charge the energy and consider wasted damage.
And of course, nothing beats testing out a pokemon yourself first before powering up. Got something small that is questionable? Try it out on a friendly gym first for prestige and see how well it works.
first evol some pokemon. second check gamepress maybe unlucky, gamepress rating F(maybe)... dont just grin away... example gyarados with dragon breath and twister, try as attacker and defender... if u think is good, yup its good, some of my friend love gyra with twister...AI spam alot make prestage and take down very hard
