I was gathering some info on best attackers (DPS and TDO wise) for the main defenders, and when I got to Exeggutor I got 2 best attackers. The question is, who is better Scizor or Pinsir?

https://pokemongo.gamepress.gg/comprehensive-dps-spreadsheet?pkm=Exeggutor&type1=grass&type2=psychic

This link shows Pinsir as the highest DPS attacker and having almost the same TDO as Scizor (197HP, 130DEF Pinsir, against 191HP, 140DEF from Scizor), so why is Scizor still considered the best Bug type attacker as stated here?

(edit: It's not like the matters that much, since we're getting some good Bug types on Gen 4)

On that spreadsheet the TDO never changes no matter what moveset you give the defender.... which isn't right...

Scizor's Steel sub-typing allows it to double-resist Exeggutor's Grass moves AND resist its Psychic moves, while Pinsir is pure Bug so it only resists the Grass moves.

EDIT: Sorry, misread the question, thought you were asking specifically about Exeggutor. But the point still stands that Scizor's DPS is almost as good as Pinsir's but it's got bonus Steel-type resistances. Pinsir's extra 2 ATK is outweighed in most situations by Scizor's typing and extra 10 STM, imo.

Yes it does. Just give it a moveset and you'll see it change, I did it multiple times. The only thing is that with the configuration of the OP, Exeggutor has no attacks set so it's not taken into account. I guess it acts as if the defender was not attacking.

I use that spreadsheet a lot and the TDO never changes no matter what charge move I choose... but then I figured out you need to pick both a fast move and a charge move.
