Buddy system stopped working

Yesterday after the update I got 10 pikachu candies.
Pikachu found candies not only when the km count ended but randomly got another extra candies.

But tody it is another story. It does not work anymore.

The km count restarts everytime it ends with no candy reward.
No matter I walk.
For example with geodude (1km) I walk 2 kms but after the first km the count starts again (when it was working fine it said: your pikachu walked 5.4 kms)

I´m playing on IOS

Anyone experiencing this??
