Buddy Pokémon

Tyranitar--I only got one from a raid. Two others at level 30. Catching the clone up.

Geodude is a good choice since he's a 1km buddy

Larvitar. I'm currently powering up my second tyranitar - evolved, like my first (little chance to get one from a raid) so I need the candy and hate using rare candy, although I have.

ttar because larvitar are EXTREMELY rare where i live. but i have got a fair amount from raids.

Articuno, but mostly just because it is cool. I'm not in that much need of any candy right now, I guess. Will probably swap in Larvitar as soon as the event ends.

If you think you have enough high tier candies and enough of them powered up then you can always choose something like pidgey and use the buddy as an xp booster.

larv without question. its become a game where defenders are no where near the importance of having a good attack lineup. now and going forward for future legends tyran is easily one of the best mons to have (ideally that means you want a highlevel tyran army and that means a ton of candy)- i recenlty blew through over 600 larv candy powering my tyrans up - my 100 to level40 and a couple to level 38.5- granted you might not feel the need to get them up that high but point is it doesnt hurt to have that candy on standby- and just getting it from 20-33 is 100candy..candy drops fast. tyran id say is most imp attacker to have. (as a sidenote the current two legends are completely useless as attackers dont even bother walking them lol- raids you can get candy but even so im not spending an ounce of dust powering up a dex filler - if only u can throw in a gym..would be diff story)

1) Rhydon's movepool sucks
2) only 1km
3) no Legendary Rock types comming soon
4) Machamp/Tyranitar/Alkazam are available in Raids

I see no use in walking defenders. Ampharos is only for the dex and with Zapdos comming it gets pretty much useless and for legendary you have rare candies

I'm walking a Machoke. Used to walk a Magikarp before, but now it's a Gyarados.

I'm walking Lugia until I get Zapdos, then Zapdos will be my permanent buddy. I know it isn't the best choice, it is more for fun. I have 225 Dratini candies and 175 Larvitar candies. I am also good on Machamps and Golems. I only have around 130k stardust and don't really plan on powering anything else up at this point, so there isn't any candy that is a pressing need.

Tyranitar. Might power up a 3rd so stocking up on candy. Have a lot of candy for other Pokémon and defenders such as snorlax and Blissey aren't worth it anymore. If u really need a golem or machamp, they r prob ur best bang for the buck.
