Is Bubblestraat obsolete with the new update?

Now that you battle friendly gyms with 6 pokemon, is bubblestraat nullified? Or do the same principles still apply

The same principles apply, you just have to put in 5 other 10 CP Pokemon, which is a little annoying.

It adds about 5-10 second per cycle, which slows down the xp grind a bit. Bubblestrat is still the fastest way to prestige ingame, because this extra time picking attackers affects everyone, not just Bubblestrat.

For xp, You probably need some friends to help setup a gym with 3+ Bubblestrat defenders. With 5 defenders, the xp rate decreased from 27k/hr to 24k/hr, only slightly. That seems to be the current sweet spot.

Im a level 31 and I have a team of pokemon in the 1100-1200 range and in the 1400-1500 range. Depending on the pokemon in the gym Ill use either my 1200 cp team or my 1500 cp team to build up the gym. With easily countered pokemon ill use the smaller team and for a harder gym i'll use the 1500 cp team. I can usually get 5K+prestige on the smaller team and 4K on the bigger team per 6 mon rotation. Its pretty easy to put up 10K prestige by myself.

Level 33 here and I transferred all my bubble mon. Don't need xp anymore and it is too time consuming. Another team dominates in my town and it's quickly beaten anyways.

I think Bubblestraat would be useful for weaker teams in a particular area if you can defend the gym...However, without coordination with other high lvl players with "wall" type mons, it's all pretty much for naught (in terms of wasting other team's time/resources) since any hardcore player could take down any gym quickly if there were just weak defenders there...

Sorta annoying to play in a weak team area and the new gym training made things a lot worst IMO. Gyms everywhere are 10 now and don't change hands much at all.

Course, I'm only 22 so trying to focus more on raising my level and actually have mons to power up since I only have 1 currently.

Economics wise it is still good since you do not burn potions, but if you stack a perfect team to train an established gym you can earn prestige faster than with the bubble strat. Optimal gym size for that is 3-7 Pokemon.
