Breeding: How it works with Ditto?

Hello guys, today I was lucky enough to catch a 100% Ditto in my own house!

I've been searching for that Pokemon for a long time, because I heard something that Ditto, along with his IV, will play a big role if breeding comes out in the future.
Does anyone know how the breeding works and what is Ditto's role in it?

There's not such a thing as breeding in the game, as of now.
Nobody knows how something absent or non-existent works.

Pokemon Go is not the only Pokemon game ever created.
My question was related for the concept of breeding in those other games (prior to Pokemon GO) and how, hypothetically, this could be incorporated into Pokemon Go.

I think they changed breeding in gen 3, and all of the following applies to Sun/Moon. You can breed a ditto with any breedable (non-legendary) Pokemon, male or female. For mon w/out genders (like Magneton), Ditto is the only way to breed. The babies inherit 3 IVs (out of 6) from one parent. So a 100% ditto would increase your odds of getting at least 3 maxed out stats. If the ditto is holding a special item, the baby inherits 5 stats. You can also use breeding to pass down some moves.

So basically, a 100% Ditto is probably one of the most valued Pokemon to have in the main games, especially if it has the correct nature (which is something I hope Niantic never introduces) because with enough patience, you can breed your own perfect Pokemon. And it's one reason I doubt Niantic will ever introduce breeding. It gives players too much control and puts us less at the mercy of RNG.

Edit: And since you might have been asking what does one do specifically to breed: you drop off your Ditto and the Pokemon you want to breed in the nursery in the game. Then you walk a certain number of steps and keep checking back with the nursery lady until she has an egg for you. Then you put the egg in your party and continue walking until it hatches. Rinse and repeat until you get the mon with the IVs and moves and nature you want. You release or trade the rest.

Glad to help. And congrats on your perfect Ditto. The best I've been able to find is 82%.

One question would be whether CP (level) matters. So would an 82% level 28 mean the baby would be level 28?

In the main games, they always hatch at level 1. But since eggs hatch at level 20 for players above that level, would the same apply? Probably so, if they ever implement breeding. And I still think they won't.

Thank you once again! My best, before this one, was 96% (15a/15d/13s). Great also, but not as great as 100%

I agree, that I don't see Niantic adding breeding to PokemonGo. It just doesn't feel necessary and actually will make players get up and GO less.

But then again they did add genders. If breeding wasn't in the pipeline did we need genders? For 99% of pokemon they have no visible difference between genders so it's kind of pointless (though so is height/weight so gender could be seen as just another way to add character and uniqueness to a copy)

Gangsta - What an unnecessary and insulting comment! There is no need to insult other players just for the fun of it. Be civil, please.
