Blissey and Tyranitar

I wonder, if there will be any use for Snorlax, Lapras, Exeggutor and Dragonite as gym defenders anymore? A lot of people have multiple hundreds of Chansey candy, so there are probably going to be a lot of Blisseys in the gym. Honestly, Idk if it is even possible to defeat her in time, if you dont own a Dragonite. Every other defender seems like a waste to put dust on compared to her now.

On the other hand Tyranitar is going to be THE next big OP attacker, even more so than Dragonite I would say, regardless of the moves. Its holding great typing matchups against Lapras, Gyarados, Snorlax, Exeggutor and D'nite without Steelwing. Most likely also against Blissey. The only valid counter is Vaporeon and to a lesser extent Rhydon/Golem. I honestly dont see other Top Tier defenders coming with Gen 2 also, so I would say, Tyranitar is going to absolutely dominate the offensive metagame...

I'm really excited about Gen2, but I think, its going to make the gym scenery even more one-sided than it is before.
What are your thoughts on that?

I'm scared of Blissey. Chanseys spawned everywhere here during the event. I hatched 2 Chanseys during this event. I'm sure everyone here has hundreds of candies. I have 400+.

Blissey is going to be in every gym. I'm worried.

It seems very hit and miss by area.

I saw 2 chansey's in wild whole event.

Yep, depends on your biome. We happen to have a lot of Chanseys.

I have about 200, but Chansey was more or less common here as well. Seriously, I dont know, what I am supposed to do, when there is a gym with 10 2,8k+ Blisseys...

I'm really exciting to see which pokemons will be added in the next update. Regarding Blissey, I'm only afraid of prestiging against her, on countering her, I think finding a teammate will be a must for low level trainers.

I love how you say 'the only viable counter is Vaporeon' like that doesn't matter. If Vaporeon is your hard counter you are lucky to be considered Tier 2.5 in my opinion.

Tyranitar has higher max CP based on the predictions and should be everywhere but then comes Dragonite, so these two will dominate the spoofersphere the most. Blissey should be OP in some areas but I for example couldn't find that many but I'm sure I'll be seeing lots of her. Blissey has lower max CP than Rhydon, Snorlax and Gyarados though, so anyone who has got great IV versions of those mons can still get a place above Blissey.

I could see Vaporeon exiting the gym defending meta like Lapras has though.

You are mixing things up here. Tyranitar is not going to be this great of a defender, because of the water weakness, BUT Vaporeon only has a level 1 advantage, whereas Vape has a level 2 ad vs Rhydon, so the weakness is not going to be this painful. That means, Tyranitar is probably able to tear through pretty much every gym, that doesn't include a shit load of Vapes. Now add a Dragonite to your attacker team and THOSE TWO ALONE would cover every possible defender. Imo thats just OP.

And no, probably Vape is going to play an even more important role than ever before, if only to type counter Tyranitar...

I saved enough Chansey candy to max out four lvl 39 Blissey when Gen2 drops. It's gonna be lit.

No worried about Tyranitar as gym defender, more worried about Blissey, but I think there are plenty of mons that can defeat her in time (Dragonite, Alakazam, Vaporeon, Gyarados...), and I also have a feeling that we gonna see soon more time added to the 90 seconds period just because of her, if they add more time and put like 120, there would be zero problems to kill her too.
