Biome during events

I'll start by saying that I don't know a lot about biomes. My friend live in a part of the town where there is a lot of bug and eevee spawns. When an event occur, I get better result hunting in his "biome" than anywhere else in town. Had few chansey there during the velentine's day, a lapras during watersplash and it was the best place around for exeggcute during the last event. Have you notice similar pattern!? Are suburbs better during events!?

It depends on the event type. The event makes more of whatever spawn in that biome (IF IT EXISTS). For example our downtown doesn't normally have grass spawns. So when the grass event was on there weren't any more grass mons downtown because they don't normally spawn there.

But during the pink event, Porygon basically only spawned in the downtown and industrial areas. Porygon wouldn't normally spawn in the residential areas. So one had to go downtown for an increased chance of getting one.

During the grass event they increased the spawn rate of grass mons, they didn't add more grass spawn locations. This is KEY.

What you say makes sense, it was very noticable in my town too during the last event that it was an increased grass spawn and not an increase of spawn points for grass type.

This is how it was for the pink event too. If Chanseys don't normally spawn the pink event didn't make more chansey spawn points. You had to go somewhere that Chanseys have a chance to spawn to catch one.

I agree that "it depends on the event type". My observations are the same as you for the grass event, there were less grass spawns in the city centre (but more variable in terms of species), whereas suburbs where plagued with the rarest grass types (sunkern, eggs, chikorita, bulbasaur in that order).

"quote: During the grass event they increased the spawn rate of grass mons, they didn't add more grass spawn locations. This is KEY."

My personal observations don't quite agree with this. There are no grass spawn points in my area, its basically water/normal/bug spawn points. During the grass event Normal and Bug where replaced by grass. No grass spawns were observed in Water spawn points. So, it seems to me a slightly different mechanics than the one many people are suggesting. Suburbs in my case were plagued with grass because suburbs are normally plagued with "normal" and "bug".

Both may have worked together, but because my biome is depleted in grass spawn points I couldn't observe the grass rate increase hypothesis.

Rarity of spawn points is also important. Points that usually spawn rarer mons also use to spawn the rarest of a particular event. My biome is depleted in Chansey, so during the pink event the only 2 chansey that I saw were at a specific point that usually spawns a variety of evolved forms and rare pokemon.

You are correct there, we may just be saying things slightly different. My area I live sound similar to yours. Lots of bugs and it is super rare that I see grass spawns. We don't really have grass nests per say but every now and then a rare grass mon might spawn.

What I'm saying is, in this "bug" biome grass mons still can spawn, just maybe are super rare. So when they significantly increase the spawn rate you start to see more.

Oddish, Bulbs, Chikoritas, Sunkerns Bellsprouts barely ever spawn in our neighbourhood. I could go days without seeing even 1 of them. But they "can" spawn there. So when the spawn rate is jacked up during the event I started to see them everwhere.

Funny thing is, Oddish and Bellsprout were still extremely rare during the event. Chikorita seemed more common.

Again it all depends on your biome.

The pink event sucked for me in the I caught no Chansey and only hatched one. Now the he issue for me is that I work for a medical provider and go past the hospital itself twice a day and still no Chansey spawn. I did build up to over 2000 egg candy. I am in a grass and water biome and really only noticed a change during the water. Last weekend was pretty normal, with a few more second evolution than normal.

There is no strong correlation showing Chansey spawns regularly at hospitals. It will 100% depend on the biome and then it will be random spawns if the Chansey could indeed spawn there.

What I've noticed is that whatever the biome that spawns lots of eevees (and normal junk) is, it seems to benefit the most from events. Near me, the grass event was pretty minor. A couple of grass pokemon that I wouldn't have normally gotten. Saw nothing from pink event. But take the bus down to to one of the nearby main shopping areas (town center type sites - normally spawns some eevees, bugs and trash) - I get off and there are 3 eggys a sunkern and a tangela right there. During pink event, I sat in a starbucks in a different town center for a while catching porygon after porygon, which never even showed up on the nearby from my appartment.

Hmm, you should wait until the gym rework before investing anything. It could change your mind about what you want to do.
