The "big 19" basic explanation – Rhydon (week: 10-1) – Bad quick moves, gym rework?
The gyms will be disabled and all pokémon will be kicked out after June 16, so if you want to battle, go for it now. Niantic will rework the gym during the first anniversary event.
Rhydon has weak quick moves:
Counter has a better DPS and EPS than Rock Smash, plus shorter cooldown. If a Sudowoodo uses only Counters in a battle, it generally outputs more DPS than a RS Rhydon.
Mud Slap is arguably a below average move. It is "arguably" because of Rhydon's base stats. Or else Mud Slap is slightly below average in bad/general match-ups.
Earthquake isn't a good move:
A Hydro Pump used by a Vaporeon has a better DPS and DPU, and additionally, its 0.3 shorter cooldown makes it (Hydro Pump) safer to be used.
Megahorn is underwhelming, even it has the shortest cooldown among Rhydon's charge moves. Stone Edge is with STAB and only lasts 0.1 seconds longer, which also has 10 more base power.
Next post, is still Rhydon!
