Heracross is good against Blissey, and is also decent against Tyranitar, which has the highest CP possible in the current game.

The current best moveset's DPS – C/CC – 19.963
The current best moveset for Machamp's DPS – C/DP – 21.411

We can see that Machamp with C/DP is still better here, if only comparing the general DPS.

Ideal moveset for defense: Struggle Bug + Close Combat
Wanted moveset for defense: Hidden Power + Rock Slide (damaging Charizard with Rock Slide while Hidden Power charges energy fast on gym defense)
The Hidden Power type: poison

Vaporeon will waste Tyranitar easily. Machamp is also superior to Heracross stat wise. Plus, both are also available virtually anywhere. How many left till you finish this series?

A maxed out tyranitar has highest cp in the game, letting it sit comfortably at the top of lvl 10 gyms with tons of blisseys at the bottom to protect it. this is y tyranitar is actually one of the best defenders in the game
