Best phone for Pokemon Go?

I now have the nexus 6p, but it overheats way too fast! When I walk and try to catch pokemon the cpu goes to 98% extremely fast. The temp reaches 41 degrees celsius and stays there. The only thing that helps a bit is the Go Plus.

I am doubting to buy a new phone and my choice would be an iPhone SE, because I read that many people say it has a smooth gameplay. Or a Xiaomi redmi 4x pro.
If someone has a better suggestion or idea please do tell!

Thanks in advance.
Btw love the site!

I have a galaxy s8 plus, the non American version. All the American version phones with Snapdragon processors are rubbish. It is smooth but the screen is elongated so may take some time to get used to.

I also rocked a note 4 (again the non American version) and it was very good. I'd actually prefer it to my s8 because of the instant battery swap. Also provides easy screen reduction for one handed catching. It's not waterproof so no go in the rain however.

You're right. Im 1 month with my iPhone SE 32gb and the gameplay is very smooth and safe besides the decent battery life. Dont buy any Zenfone cuz of gameplay is trash.

It's not the iPhone 6S! I'll tell you that much. :( The new iPhone coming out better be able to handle this game.

I use a galaxy s8 and iPhone 7. Both are phenomenal. Wife has the 7 plus and no problems. My son had the 6s and it was smooth. He lost his phone and he's using a 5s. Terrible. Almost unplayable. It's not worth it. All the phones I play on get hot. Especially in the summer. I'm always holding it to the ac in my car. I stopped using a wireless battery charger bc the phone was ready to burn up when I would play. All the phones heat up somewhat. New iPhone and galaxy would be the best option. Maybe get a 6s for cheap

SG J7 2016 is also a good choice. I bought this one last week and the battery life is awesome, the game run fast. Definitively worth for US $ 165.

I played honestly on my iPhone 6S+ and wow everything is amazing. Back in the day when people would report being frozen after the loading screen, I never had that issue. Everything looks great, has a large screen, and runs super well.

Now I spoof on a Galaxy Tab S2 and its garbage to look at. Lots of dropped frames and the application did freeze up a lot after the loading screen.

I've seen this game run on multiple android phones and it was never good enough, for me. The iPhone 6S+ just made all the others look inadequate.

Raid usually starts with 3 seconds lag only.

The Lenovo P2 is an excellent pogo phone, huge battery, I can play all day on a single charge + has fast charging option. Large display, plenty of RAM, not too expensive, def worth checking out :)

My LG G3 died after 3 months of PoGO playing (it'd die without me playing PoGO anyway). Next phone was Samsung Galaxy A9 Pro, which is a beast in terms of battery (5,000 mAh). However, it is too bulky and doesn't have Gyroscope sensor so I passed it on my mom. Now I'm with Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 (Global version with SnapDragon 625). I can't be any happier. Playing PoGO, Ingress and using RunKeeper and CharityMiles at the same time without app restarting. :) I bought it brandnew for about 200USD.
