Best Grass attacker in the game?

Is it BS/SB Exeggutor? Or is it BS/LB Sceptile? Trying to figure out which one to power up (assume similar IVs)

Nothing in gen3 has dethroned Eggy sadly. I know its a waste of resuources to have to power up new mon, but I kind of enjoy when the meta is changed a bit. Sadly nothing to see here. Keep your Machamps, Exeggcutors, etc.

Yet another problem with GO, too one dimensional.

Is it too much to ask for a meta where both these pokemon are better in different situations? Or will this game continue to have one dominant pokemon of each type forever.

Can't be bothered to go out and catch gen 3's, it hasn't brought me back to the game. Only the new fairy is worth anything, at least it would be if they gave it a fairy quick move (or even added one to the game!)

I think that Blaziken has a place in Tyranitar raids. Against Fire Blast and/or Iron Tail, Blaziken has better resistance than Machamp, and Counter/Focus Blast will hit Ttar hard. Probably won't dethrone Machamp, but has uses, just like the tankier Hariyama (or however it's spelled).

That's actually a good example of where Blaziken has an edge. It's naturally squishier than Machamp by a fair bit, but when it resists both moves it will last longer for certain.

I managed to catch a Lv 34 (87%iv) Seedot and the RL/LB Shiftry it evolved into rivals my Lv 30 BS/SB eggies according to pokebattler. Granted, they are of VERY different levels, but they were about the same amount of investment (namely 0 dust). Had my Lv 34 Sceptile ended up with Leaf Blade instead of Sludge bomb it would have been even better. The highest Eggy I've managed yet is lv 31 (and they keep ending up with psychic moves).

Sceptile with Bullet Seed and Leaf Blade is only a little worse than Eggy, DPS wise.

However, because Leaf Blade is 3 bar while Solarbeam is 1 bar, Sceptile can be useful at the end of the lineup of a raid to get some last minute charge moves out.

I would imagine that BS/SoB Eggy would retain its raw damage Grass title, but Sceptile with LB would be a better gym battler due to the multibar (while still remaining a terrific raid option). SoB is suboptimal past the first round of a full gym.

Gym battling is irrelevant though, since they made it stupidly easy to beat any gym.

they might aswell say anyone who selects a gym takes over the gym immediately. It's that easy.

Eggy has slightly better DPS and is tankier, so it's still the best. Sceptile is a good glass cannon though and LB makes it a very nice finisher for solo raids where you use grass. I'll personally be looking to get at least one good one.
