Best Candy in Gyms?

So in my area there is no real strategy that keeps a gym longer or shorter. If someone wants it they take it.

That said the mon that you put in a gym may generate candy. And that matters over time.

So what candy do you most want? Here are my current top 6
Metagross
Metang
Blissey
Chansey
Ttar
Slacking

Salamance most, followed by Tyranitar and dragonite mostly here.

If anyone were willing to put in weaker but rare Pokemon they'd be good too (e.g. finneon or other Gen 4 Pokemon that haven't been frequent spawns yet).

Thanks!! Adding Bagon to list. Only have 302 Cany backed up and have not evolved on yet. Waiting for Community day.

Putting Kirlia on the list for same reason (but am sitting on 1157 of those candy with another 100 or so ready for trade\transfer)

Since Metagross and Metang both use Beldum candy, I assume you listed both because you wanted to double up on the candy opportunity (likewise for Blissey/Chansey).

For me it would be Flygon, Finneon, Bronzor, Buizel. The last three because I want to get enough candy to evolve one for the 'dex without having to buddy up with one, Flygon for PvP. Can't put legendaries in gyms, or I'd want Cresselia, Lugia, Latios for PvP.

Good choices for our area (except Flygon as trapinch candy is easy to get here)

Chansey
Snorlax
Meltan
Larvitar

No others are all that attractive to me. Though personally, I tend to put lots of weird Pokémon in gyms - like Milotic, Wobbuffet and Lunatone or Solrock.

Usually i throw in whatever i need to evolve, so gen 4s meltan and some of the sinnoh stone evos i underestimated candy cost for. Psudolegendaries like salamance and metagross always have 20-30 candy fed.

I will drop regionals for candy and fun from time to time as well.

Top 6 candy I try to get from gyms:
Finneon
Riolu
Meltan
Beldum
Larvitar
Chansey

Generally I put in a Finneon or Riolu if I think the gym won't hold no matter what, or it has enough other defenders to deter the busiest of attackers. Other times it's Blissey or Chansey.

No one wants Milotic, Gardevoir or Togekiss candies?? :(

what about other sinnoh stone candidates like Electivire?

Many long-time players have accumulated surplus candy for most Sinnoh Stone evolvables, especially nesting ones like Electabuzz and Magmar. Feebas candy was easily available in the wild during an event last summer.

Yeah, sitting on 520 feebas candy. Not really that hard and since they are hard to spend it is never a priority.

I evolved 4 (traded 3) Milotic...still have 600+ candy at the moment. Here I’d nudge trapinch candy above Feebas, I catch maybe one trapinch a week—I do spend them easier than Feebas candy.

I don't even remember when I last saw wild Trapinch but I've evolved 4 Flygon and still have 1k candy. They used to hatch a lot from 10ks and I think were also featured in an event last year.

Generally I try to go for the following candy in no particular order:
Dratini
Bagon
Meltan
Larvitar
Beldum
Anything I need extra candy for, currently would be Bronzor and Finneon.

In Singapore, Chansey candy remains the most valuable, even comparable to top legendaries.
