Bad evolution movesets during Easter event
Yo guys I'm literally pissed now! It was tiring to grind mons for 3 mass-evolving rounds with lucky eggs, and the movesets I got are mostly bad. Here are the ones I remember:
1. Tyranitar: my only one, 89% IV hatched, she got IT/SE, not the worst, but definitely I want B/SE, B/C, or IT/C (for defense).
2. Slowking: Confusion/Fire Blast, no need further explanation.
3. Kingdra: DB/HP, not the worst, but I was hoping for DB/OR or DB/BZ to add one anti-dragonite ammunition.
4. Bellossom: Acid/Leaf Blade, another useless mixed-type moves.
5. Sunflora: Bullet Seed/Sludge Bomb. SHIT!
6. Blastoise: WG/Flash Cannon. TRASH!
7. Arcanine: Evolved 2, Snarl/Wild Charge and Fire Fang/Wild Charge. GARBAGES!
8. Cloyster: FB/HP. SCUM!
9. Rhydon: RS/Megahon, MS/Megahorn, and MS/SE. So 1 good moveset and 2 bad movesets, 1/3.
10. Porygon2: Charge Beam/Solar Beam. FUCK!
11. Machamp: Oh this is the most heart-breaking one, 95.6% IV and he got double steel moves.
12. Typhlosion: Shadow Claw/Solar Beam wow so frustrating, my Bellossom and Sunflora didn't get Solar Beam but my Typhlosion and Porygon2 did? FUCK! I evolved another Typhlosion out of rage with low CP/lvl and he got ember/fire blast.
Are you guys having the same bad luck?
Answers
I got a 86% FB/B Lapras out of a 2k egg, a 100% B/HB Aerodactyl...And a slew of other good ones
Though I probably got far more crappy ones than you did along with them. I just didn't post a rant about it since - well - it's pokemon go and purely RNG. So the "bad luck" you're describing is not too far away from everyone else's luck.
Suck it up buttercup!
That list only consists the ones I remember exactly, there are still many bad movesets I did get. There are also other useless mons I didn't even bother to mention like lanturn (sunflora, bellossom, and porygon2 are also useless but they consumed evolution items). You're right though, many people are also having worse luck than the luckier ones, not just me.
My bad ones:
Quagsire – Mud Shot + Sludge Bomb
Again? Still gonna put it in the gym, though.
Omastar – Mud Shot + Ancient Power
It seems OK in the gym, due to a mediocre CP.
Raichu – Volt Switch + Thunder Punch
Maybe good in the gym, but still a quite viable high level attacker/prestiger.
Granbull – Bite + Crunch
An extremely weaker version of Tyrantiar, mostly.
Kingdra – Water Gun + Blizzard
I think, only useful as a prestiger/attacker against Gligar.
My good ones:
Clefable – Charge Beam + Moonblast
Finally, I have a viable attacker into Crunch or Outrage Gyaradoses!
Rhydon – Mud Slap + Earthquake
Got a better attacker into tanky Blisseys.
Gyarados – Dragon Tail + Outrage
Got one more attacker into Dragonites, although it does sub-par damage.
Sunflora – Razor Leaf + Solar Beam
A good prestiger against Omastar/Quagsire.
Ivysaur – Vine Whip + Solar Beam
A good prestiger against Electrode.
Just how it goes...I don't think movesets have anything to do with event...you will always get more bad movesets than good. Evolved my 4th blissey today and got zh/Psy...frustrating when all 4 have that same moveset...my other bad luck mon has been dragonite still have yet to get a dragon tail....last 4 have all been steel wing...but such is life...sure eventually will get good movesets for both...not worth crying over
Yeah agree, after I calmed down I think this is not worth raging over. I wish us better luck next time. At least my only Ampharos got CB/ZC. I just thought the proportion of the bad ones to the good ones is unfair. I'm almost lvl 34 now (thanks to this event) and still haven't had C/DP machamp out of 6 champs and only one has C/CC. But still, I agree with you, not worth crying over
I also got SW/HB and SW/OR dragonite (I don't think SW/OR nite is that bad though, still better than IT/SE tyrant imo), pound/psychic and pound/DG blissey, evolved 6 machamps in total and no one got C/DP while only one got C/CC and the remaining 5 have a steel move or double steel moves, focus blast alakazam, evolved at least 10 flareons since FS/OH became available but only one got FS/OH, and many more. I only mentioned the ones I got during this event, while the guy above was talking about his dragonites and blisseys in his pokemon go entire career. It's not an apple to apple comparison, smart boy
The assumption that these are "bad" movesets falls under the premise that the usability of a Pokémon will only be forever determined by the now current gym meta, where a static gym defender is easily taken care of by a Pokémon with two of the same moves.
Have you thought about the future of Pokémon go? What about PvP? In POTENTIAL PvP scenarios (presumably a 6-vs-6 where trainers have access to switch Pokémon at any time) a single-type movesets may not be optimal. For that reason, slowking (fire blast covers THREE of his 5 weaknesses), kingdra, sunflora, cloyster, porygon2, and bellossom all may have merit.
Granted, I'm sorry to hear about tyranitar and typhlosion (SOLAR BEAM COVERS ALL ITS WEAKNESSES!!), but hang onto those guys as they may have merit in the future. Yes, it is unfortunate for now but you may be thankful in months to come if you're still playing
